This was my first time seeing Supergrass after listening to them for many years. I think this might have been their first time to Dallas. No wait I think they opened for Pearl Jam...I didn't go to that. This was such a great show.
After the show I was standing around with my friends and Gaz walked out with all of his little groupies. One psycho boy was waiting for his chance to give him a cake he made completely decorated as the cover of the Life On Other Planets album. It looked cool but you could tell he wanted nothing to do with this cake and was looking for a way out of the creepy conversation. So my girlfriend and her friend walked up and asked him to take a photo of them, not of them and the rock star but just of them. He said something like "Na...really...OK". He took their camera and snapped the picture (see above). The look on his face was the best.
I did see them play again about a year or two ago but the minidisc recorder crapped out and I got nothing. It was a good reason to replace it.
Enjoy the show.

To date I have recorded 166 performances. I will post those shows that I recorded in absolutely no obvious order.
I don't care if you repost my work onto other boards but at least give me credit on your post and direct the link here to download the show. Help spread the word.
Let me know if you find any dead links and I'll repost it.

Film School live at SXSW - March 14, 2008
I taped Film School off of two different webcasts during their stay at SXSW this year. One from Little Radio, the other from WOXY. The better of the two came from WOXY. I guess it's the difference in WOXY recording in a bedroom versus a barn.
The first Film School performace came from Little Radio at about 1:30 in the afternoon. This recording is without any errors. I tried taping several different performances from Little Radio's webcast, but as normal they had tons of connection problems. I got about 5 minutes of the Black Angels performance and missed many others all together. I think they got it together during the 3rd day because this came out good.

Here is the second Film School performance I taped. This one came from the WOXY Lounge Act series via webcast at about 6 in the evening. It appears from the pictures that the recording was a bit more laid back. Therefore, WOXY was able to do interviews with the band in a more intimate setting. This is my favorite of the two performance as the band sounded much better.
Also, you can probably still grab a full performance from the band over at Bradley's Almanac who recorded them a few months ago in Cambridge.

The Black Hollies live in Dallas TX - March 8, 2008 - CPR-166
The Black Hollies are a 60's throwback garage psychedelic band with a blend of soul. They are a cross between The Pretty Things and The High Dials. If you are into that kind of music you won't be disappointed here. They are a great live band that have obviously been playing together for awhile.
I've never seen a band play straight through their show without stopping for an applause. They played for 45 straight minutes without a break. The transitions between the songs were really great especially between (Baby) I'm Your Fool and The Autumn Chateau. It took me awhile to figure out how to track this show. It would not have been possible had I not had both of their albums.
We went to this show expecting to see a good band play but we were instead caught in the middle of a photo shoot, while the band played, with a local untalented go-go dancing group called the Lollipop Dolls. You can see the photos on their myspace page. I swear they was barely 2 seconds without a flash going off. I counted at least 3 different photographers at one time taking photos. It's really humorous to me to see the resulting photos as they were obviously posing for every picture instead of trying to be entertaining.
You could tell which girls could not dance as they stuck both of them in the back. The two that are standing together in the front tried really hard to shake it but just didn't quite raise themselves to the level of entertainment. Then the one on the left with red hair was just there to look pretty. Her favorite move was to bend over, shake her hair out, quickly stand up straight and pose for a picture. Way to ruin a good show.
Regardless of my obvious opinions of the dancers the band sounded great. I'm glad I recorded this so that I could enjoy it without the constant flashes of light from photographers. Also, I really enjoyed the club. Club Dada is a perfect place to see a small band play as they are possibly at capacity at about 200 people. They were maybe 50 people at the show. The seats around the stage made a really good place to sit back, have a beer and tape a show.
Enjoy the show it turned out really well. I've been listening to it all day.
Here is a good interview with the band, Turn It Down.

Up To My Ears & Eyeballs
Update 3/19/08:
I finally got The Black Hollies show tracked out that I recorded recently. I'm planning on posting it for everyone tonight. As for the SXSW webcasts. I got 2 Film School shows, Shout Out Louds and a Raveonettes show recorded, maybe something else too. I'll post them all this weekend.
Update 3/13/08:
Man Little Radio sucks. I've been trying to record their SXSW webcasts and they have major buffer problems and iTunes just stops playing the webcast. It happened yesterday and today. I missed all of the good stuff. I guess I will try and take it to work with me tomorrow.
I've been a bit busy this week with Spring Break coming up. I have several large projects I have to finish for Architecture School. I'll post something rockin' in a few days.
I'm planning on recording as many of the SXSW webcasts as possible next week. I know Film School is playing along with The Raveonettes. I need to sit down and figure it all out.
I recorded The Black Hollies last night in Dallas. I'll post that soon. Thanks to Trip Inside This House for the heads up on that one.
